Over in the real world, air bursts are used to maximize the overpressure effects, i.e.
A ground-level explosion creates an extremely dirty event (fallout) and a much reduced effective radius. But that is not how atom bombs work so Im not really sure why is there a crater. Originally posted by Ironclad:If the bomb hit the ground and then exploded then yes, it would leave a crater.
